About SCOTT
Drawing deeply from the rich history of rural Utah, I find inspiration in the forgotten, the discarded, and the overlooked remnants of a bygone era. Vintage cameras, weathered beer cans, rusted vehicles, and trains old and new—all of these objects, once part of daily life, carry with them untold stories. Through my work, I seek to breathe new life into these relics, extracting their unique character and charm in a way that fosters a connection between the past and the present. By repurposing these forgotten items into art, I aim to celebrate their beauty and complexity, inviting viewers to see what is often overlooked and forgotten.
I work primarily in oil and watercolor, mediums that allow me to capture the subtle nuances of these subjects in detail. My photorealistic style—refined over the course of thirty plus years—lets me communicate the intricate textures and quiet dignity of each piece, whether it’s the patina of rust or the wear of time. Through my work, I want to encourage reflection on the stories these objects tell and how they continue to shape the world we live in, even after they’ve been cast aside.
